New Makeup Favorites

The most common question I am asked post-BC is, "what makeup are you using now?" I have been trialing new brands and I am happy to report that I have found some great replacements. I often share these discoveries on my Instagram stories, but I wanted to share a little more at length here. Below you'll find a few of my current favorites:

Olive Rose Serum Hydroxytyrosol Skin Tint

The first waterless “no makeup makeup” has just launched and it's so good. The Olive Rose Skin Tint feels amazing and provides a light, but buildable coverage. I’d say it brings out the best version of your skin without covering it up or trying too hard. It gives skincare benefits instantly AND overtime thanks to the hydroxytyrosol-base and hyaluronic acid.

The Skin Tint can be applied with your fingers (less product waste and faster) and/or you can use a sponge or brush (provides the most professional finish).

I recommend using the Shade Finder to find your best match. I am a shade five in the fall/winter season, but the shades are so forgiving that I can also use four and likely others - those just happened to be the two I purchased. You can even snag a lighter shade for highlighting (shade one is a great option for light-medium skin) and a darker one for contouring. This brand does offer free shipping on all orders over $50 and a 365 day guarantee, so no stress about choosing your shade.

Coverage: Light to Medium (buildable)

What I like about it: Skincare + makeup in one -- it's a true multi-tasker. The natural and glowing finish. Follows European safety standards for ingredients.

Araza All in One Coconut Cream Foundation

Cleanest of the clean! The All in One Coconut Cream Foundation is a light weight foundation that boasts ingredients beneficial for both coverage and skincare. The natural clay helps fight inflammation and the product as a whole protects against environmental stressors including blue light and pollution. Bonus: it contains zinc oxide for a natural SPF. I use Araza's foundation brush to apply it and then blend it out with my beauty blender sponge. It's a good option for acne-prone and sensitive skin. Araza's customer service is super helpful with choosing your shade. You can also grab shade samples for $2.50. I wear shade 260 for reference. Save $5 on your first Araza order.

Coverage: Light to Medium

What I like about it: Crazy clean ingredients - 95% organic (!!). Love the glowing finish it gives you. It offers more coverage than the Skin Tint, but also contains an SPF. I typically wear this when I need a little more coverage and when I "dress up."

Saie Slip Tint Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 35

The Slip Tint is a great replacement for BC's Dew Skin given the light, dewy coverage and SPF 35. It has won multiple beauty awards, including Allure's Best of Beauty and Cosmo's Holy Grail.

It can be applied with your fingers, so it's super quick. I wear this most days that I am outside or in a hurry.

For reference, I wear shade 3.5 - light to medium with golden undertones. They do have a "Find Your Shade" tool, too. Save $10 at Saie.

Coverage: Sheer to Light

What I like about it: Quick and easy application + clean SPF. Perfect for pool and golf days. My pick when I have to run out of the door quickly.

Ogee Contouring Sticks

A certified organic contouring set - yes, please! The Ogee Sculpted Face Sticks offer a great replacement for BC's long gone highlighter sticks. The Ogee Face Sticks are buildable and blendable, and provide a natural glow. There are three different contouring bundled collections, but each shade can also be purchased individually. I have the Crystal Contouring Set (pictured here). Save $15 on your first Ogee order.

I typically use the blush daily and then the whole set when I want a little more umph.

What I like about it: Not too heavy, easy to blend, and gives you that coveted natural glow.

Ogee Scuplted Tinted Lip Oils

I'm obsessed with these Tinted Lip Oils. They are a great alternative to BC's Lip Sheers, offering a very light, but buildable color. They have great organic ingredients, including hydrating jojoba oil and hyaluronic acid. I keep the Rosalia (dusty rose) and Begonia (red plum) in my purse and I can't wait to try more shades. Save $15 on your first Ogee order.

What I like about it: Easy to use on the go. Love the hint of peppermint and the light, but buildable color.
